Explore Our Journey

Hi guys, welcome to our website. We are so glad you’re here!

Our names are Max and Mia. We decided to create this website because when we moved to Germany we encountered a lot of obstacles that no one had warned us about and we didn’t have the information on how to overcome these. We have documented everything we have learnt so far in the hopes that it will help someone regardless of which stage of your journey you are at. We will continue to document out Journey here in Germany (and wherever else we may live) as well as giving you helpful information on living abroad.

A bit about us, we met at a party in 2019 and not to be cliche but it was love at first sight for both of us. We became official in February 2020 and tied the knot in December 2022. My husband (Max) grew up in Canada and moved to Germany for work in 2019 whilst I (Mia) was living in the United Kingdom. We were in a long distance relationship for 2 and a half years before I moved to Germany in August 2022. In February 2024 we welcomed our first child and have been navigating life as a family of 3 since then.
